Table for 8, Please

Last year our search began for items that would accommodate our growing family. First was the car, a dresser, and other small things. We knew we had about a year to find a new dining table that would seat at least 6.
We have had our IKEA table for four since we were first married and it hardly fit just the 4 of us. Forget about putting the dinner food on the table with us- buffet style every night was how we had to do it. We had planned on buying new, but looking at prices and thinking about it more, we decided to buy used. With kids coloring, writing, being mischievous, running around... why invest in a new table now.

Our craigslist hunt began a few weeks ago. Only one caught my eye, but Brad had his reservations... and then it was gone. Darn. Last week I found an ad and emailed- we were the first ones and I got to see it the next day. It was perfect. Hardly looks used, to me. It seats 6 normally, with a leaf to make it a square and seat 8. It is exactly what we wanted. We finally get to eat dinner like normal people- our food is on the table with us!! We are such grown-ups. It's the little things...
Doesn't James look so small at the table??
Yay for good deals and awesome finds!

  3. BEAUTIFUL TABLE!!!

Tooootally know what you mean about buffet style every night. Brinley tries to touch every hot thing on the table. Someday we'll upgrade to a "real" table! lol the small things in life!
