Give Thanks

I know it is the day after Thanksgiving, but I do know there is no rule as to when you state what you are grateful for. :)
I am so grateful for my health. Last year on Thanksgiving, I was in my bedroom all day only able to eat crackers. It was horrible. I was rather depressed because my family and my husband were in my apartment's front room enjoying one another, and I couldn't even eat and enjoy the festivities.
This year, I was able to go up to Sacramento and enjoy the holiday with my extended family on my mom's side. It was so much fun. I got to talk to my cousins, my aunt, see my gramma, see my cousin's kids... it was just great. Even though we live rather close to all of them, actual get-togethers with ALL of us are few and far between. Thanksgiving, to me, has almost always included extended family.
The best part... I WAS ABLE TO EAT!! I loved it!! I love food, though there are some people who don't believe me when I say it or proclaim to hate me once I say it. Oh well!! My oldest cousin, Donna, her husband is from Louisiana and he makes this delicious fried turkey. I didn't think I'd like it, because I'm rather aware of the nastiness of grease. But it was hecka good!! And he put these delicious cajun spices on it. Oh yum!!
Even though this past year has been tough with everything, including my health and Brad's arm injury, I am so grateful that we have both been able to recover pretty well. Brad has really encouraged me with my health and hasn't gotten on my case for being too skinny, which I really need. My parents have been so amazing... letting us live with them while we get back on our feet after these setbacks. I have been blessed with such an amazing family and such a wonderful husband. I am grateful for so many different things, but the foremost in my mind is my health. It has truly been a mircaulous difference between last year. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday as much as I did.
(Above) November of last year. Super skinny
Thanksgiving of this year. Much happier!
