Us Old Folk

Life does not slow down, does it? It's funny, because I think life is terribly busy... yet, there are many other things that could be added and aren't at the time. No kids are in sports right now (hallelujah!), no music lessons (yet...), no boys in scouts, etc. But between dropping and picking the boys up every day from school, running errands, cleaning house, house projects, Netflix binges (hey, being real here), and church callings, time seems maxed out.

Brad is busy with being awesome at his job. Expect anything less?! Heck no, he's so freaking good at what he does (he's basically amazing at anything he tries, to be honest...). Brad is serving in the Elder's Quorum presidency as well in our ward. I am also trying to make sure he doesn't get bored and have been giving him some home projects to do. Just being a good wife, ya know! One thing he really loved doing was making his own work bench in our garage. Right now, he/we are currently swapping our pantry and coat closet. I'm so excited!!
Here is us... celebrating 11 years of marriage. Still very much in love and a bit in dismay that that many years have gone by.
Onto me, well... I'm a mom and stay busy with mom stuff. Trying to make good meals every day, not always succeeding. Quesadillas and pasta dishes have been pretty popular here lately. Trying to keep our house clean, really not succeeding lately. Ha! Ah well. It's not too bad... but it's bad enough to be driving my anxiety up the wall. Just... clutter. Yech. It's really ironic- I dislike clutter and things not being clean. Like, really do not like it in my home. YET cleaning and organizing so does not come naturally to me. In the slightest. The struggle is real, man. The struggle. is. real. Oi. Anywho... thanks to good ol' Pinterest (loooooove it), I've come across a bunch of organizing and cleaning blogs, and I am addicted to them. Not perfectly implementing them yet, but it's slowly coming together. Someday :) I am also serving as the Young Women's President in our ward. *gasp* I know, shocked me too. I still think the only reason why I am in Young Women's is because of my maturity level. But hey, I love it so I'm not complaining! The girls are amazing and I love being a part of the organization.
I've also been trying to check things off my list of to-do's around the house in the project/craft area. Some of the things I've done is...
jewelry holders...
this is just a cork board covered with fabric. i didn't take a picture of it now- it has push pins and all my necklaces hanging from it
clearance appetizer plates from target turned into a ring/earring holder

spray painted and distressed coat racks...
stained crates...
spray painted our gold handles and knobs...
fall wreath...
.... and I think that is it. Whew! There's our life right now. Sort of. That's a very small gist of it, more like. We're getting ready for Halloween. The boys costumes are going to be awesome. Awe-some. Watch out for when that comes on here (or more like on FB and instagram first because those are far easier to do)!

  1. Fun! Love seeing your craftiness! Doesn't the yarn around the wreath take forever!? Unless you know some fast trick?
Good luck in your callings! I love YWs. I'm the RS President and Mike was in the EQ Presidency; it was nuts with our ward, but he's been released now so it's not as crazy =).
