And the Winner is...

We are buying our first house!!

Ok, so I was really surprised that almost everyone guessed that! As for the other options-

1- We had some close calls to moving out of state a few months back, but they were a no go (obviously). We put our faith in that Heavenly Father knew what was best for us and something would come along.
2- At the moment, the plan is... our family is complete :) We are open to maybe more, but for now we feel the answer is we are done having kids.
3- The winner! Shortly after the other possible jobs, Brad's boss gave him a small raise (which any raise is good!). Then, literally, a few weeks later, the CEO gave him a larger raise and a promotion to Director of Analytics. So proud of  him! And that right there- Heavenly Father definitely knew we needed to stay with his company and we needed to trust in his timing. This position gives Brad great opportunity to be in a manager role, to work even more with upper management and grow in his skills. Truly, a great blessing.
4- Oh, how great it will be when I can finish my degree! We do have plans for me to go back to school, but probably not until Jack is in preschool or kindergarten. Unless something can work out with an online degree, but my major (history) isn't available at the moment. Someday!
5- Again- someday. Oh man... I could use it right now. But... someday. 10 year anniversary is next year...

Onto the house! We are buying a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, one-level home. It has a family room and a living room, which I felt we really needed if we couldn't find a 4-bedroom house (and those are seriously scarce around here). The boys need a bit of area to themselves where I don't feel so caught up in their mess. We get a backyard! And it already has raised garden beds with veggies and fruits. So. Excited. The thing that sold me, though, was this...
I kind of gasped/screamed when I saw it. A real laundry room- with a counter! No more going out to our garage! Here are some more pics we took during the house inspection last week-
Living room in the front of the house
 Kid's bathroom! Nice and roomy
 Family room by kitchen
 Storage shed, backyard and garden
We are hoping to close at the end of the month. I'm trying really hard to not be my normal paranoid self and think it's going to fall through. Everything is looking great and we are so excited for this move. It's in a great family neighborhood with sidewalks (Eugene is funny and is really sporadic with their sidewalks and well paved roads). The house needs some new paint and a bit of updating, but nothing too serious. Our original plan was to buy older and update, but we just couldn't find something big enough for our three rambunctious boys. They were all just shy of being the right size. Maybe the next house :) I'll for sure update on here with the progress and the move!

  4. I knew it!! Your mom told me! How AWESOME!!! That is a super cute house Amy-kins!! I'm so happy and excited for your new adventure of home-ownership. Most days it is awesome -- there are still some days where I would LOVE to have a landlord to come fix something though!! ;) But paying down something that's yours is 5-zillion times better than throwing your money at someone else!! Congrats!!!!! (P.S. I had the same reaction to an indoor laundry room as well. It's the simple things in life... LOL.)

  10. Hooray!!! Are you moving out of the ward? Where in Eugene is it? i know what you mean about 4-bedroom homes: so hard to come by!!!! We weren't as lucky to get a family room and living room, but thankfully the kids' rooms are large, so they have lots of play space in there. I was hoping to have a play room (family room), but like you, we'll have to wait. Congrats! I love the look of the place, so nice and fresh. And garden beds are awesome! So are fenced yards!
