Little Sailor Quilt

Remember how I said I am a novice sewer? There is one sewing project that I know how to do and that is make a rag quilt. They are so easy and so stinkin' cute. Of course I had to make one for my upcoming bundle of joy!

It took me a long time to pick out the main fabric pattern. All of a sudden I got really picky as to what I wanted {or more like, didn't want}. Then one day I walked into JoAnn's and they had gotten some new flannel patterns. I saw the one and instantly loved it. I don't know why, but I just think it is so so so cute. After that, it was just finding coordinating fabrics and ordering some online to get all that I wanted.

I had wanted to have the quilt done a while ago, but of course, being me, I procrastinated and got it done just this last week. Oh well... at least it is done and he's still not here :)

I took these fabrics
tried about a thousand different possibilities
{just a few here}
and ended with this
Must say, I am rather pleased and oh so happy to have this adorable quilt done, and even more so, have my little guy snuggling with it {in just 6 days, might I add}.
