This past Saturday, May 8th, our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) held a statewide service project here in California called Mormon Helping Hands. Due to the ever increasing budget cuts, the parks have been suffering from the lack of money the state can't give them. Parks were divided up by stakes and/or wards. In our stake, each ward was given three parks to work on. The job was to scrape off the paint of the bollards and repaint them.
I didn't do much, but I am so grateful I was able to participate even a little. It was amazing to see the ward members work together, showing their kids how to help out, smiling through it all. I just loved it.
That looks like so much fun! I love service projects!!
